Early Childhood Division
The Shulamith Early Childhood program is unique and based on sound child development principles. By recognizing children’s strengths, interest, and learning styles we help them achieve their goals. Our curriculum relies on the knowledge that learning is a holistic process and involves every facet of the child. Language, art, reading, science, writing, math, library and computers are some of the curriculum contents and skill areas that are included in the total educational experience for our young students. All of our activities are planned to encourage curiosity and questioning, stimulate a love of learning, and increase a child’s sense of self and understanding of the world.
We also boast a magnificent library program, exploring different genres and author studies, and most importantly exposing our girls to the rich world of print and a love of books with Morah Laurie. Our P-1A Banot are part of a Book Club, discussing the different parts of a book with their peers and having parents come in to read their child’s favorite book.
Much accolades belong to our gym program. Our students enjoy maximizing their gross motor skills with Morah Aviva. Each week brings with it much fun as they jump, hop, skip, and dance.
The Musical rhythm of our school is assisted much by our musical program. The Morot are constantly singing and teaching songs that reflect the curriculum. We are joined weekly by Morah Risa and her keyboard as well as Morah Chava and “stringy”.
